Indonesia Timor
Indonesian Timor coffee is rooted in tradition and community. Members of the Cooperativa Cafe Timor (CCT), a collective established in 1994 with the support of the USDA and NCBA, cultivate these beans on small farms—often less than a hectare. Since 2001, the cooperative has been Fair Trade-certified, helping farmers earn better wages and invest in their futures.
You’ll find the farms in the high-altitude regions of Maubesse, Atsabe, and Aifu, where cool mountain air and rich soils help develop the coffee’s unique character. Portuguese colonists first planted coffee in East Timor over 400 years ago. After a leaf rust epidemic, local farmers replanted their crops. They created the Hibrido de Timor varietal—a resilient coffee that now stands as a point of pride for the region.
By choosing East Timor coffee, you celebrate the history, care, and dedication that small-scale farmers pour into every cup. Each sip supports their community and delivers a flavorful, meaningful experience.
